RANGING
PROTRACKER
The Protran Ranging Protracker Train Mounted Unit is designed to be mounted in the cab of a train and utilizes the Ranging Protracker Antenna Kit. The unit is always powered up when the cab is keyed up and does not require operator intervention to turn on the system. The Ranging Protracker System is easy to install and requires minimal maintenance with only basic yearly inspections recommended. The system will automatically provide an audible and visual advanced warning to the train operator of personnel near the tracks who are wearing a Ranging Personal Alert Device (PAD). The Ranging Protracker unit displays the distance of the workers ahead as the train approaches the work zone and in addition notifies the train operator when each worker confirms they are in a place of safety by confirming the warning alert received on the worker PAD. The Ranging system is configurable and can be set to provide a desired advanced warning alarm time,
ex: always provide 30 seconds advanced warning prior to reaching the worker PAD, calculated by the speed of the train and the distance of the workers ahead. It can also be set to not alarm under a set kph, ex: no alarms between 0-3 kph. The Ranging Protracker also has data logging capabilities which will record all alarm events with GPS location, date, and time stamp. The data file is easily accessible via USB. The PAD has multiple alert modes so that when a second train approaches a work zone, the workers will receive a discernible different audible and visual warning so that they know to remain clear and look for a following train. The worker PAD is simple to operate, easy to maintain, light weight, and comes with a user friendly armband & PAD pocket. The PAD has a built in rechargeable battery and lasts 12+ hours with continuous activations.

PORTABLE ROADWAY
WORKER PROTECTION
SYSTEM
The Portable Roadway Worker Protection system includes the Portable Train Detector, the Personal Alert Device (PAD), the Flagger unit, and the Portable Warning Horn & Light (PWHL). This system is used to alert track work crews of an approaching train. The Portable Train Detectors are magnetically mounted to the rail prior to the limits of the
work zone. When a train passes the Portable Train Detector, an alert is sent to the PADs and PWHLs that a train is approaching to give the crew time to clear the tracks. The system can alert work crews on occupied or adjacent tracks. The system is used as a secondary warning to add a layer of safety to existing agency’s procedure.
